Skin Lesions Excision

Dr. Kynan specializes in the excision of skin lesions and does not perform initial diagnostic evaluations. We offer

• routine punch biopsies, and

• lesion surgical excision

Typically, patients have consulted their GP or dermatologist prior to seeing Dr. Kynan and have already received confirmation of a suspicious lesion where they feel biopsy of excision is warranted.

The size of the excision, or “margin,” is determined by the type of lesion and its staging. All excisions are meticulously closed with sutures to ensure the most aesthetically pleasing outcome. Unlike simpler methods such as steri-strips, suturing requires more time but delivers superior results. Achieving optimal outcomes also requires a high level of skill, and Dr. Kynan’s extensive experience in advanced suturing techniques ensures excellent aesthetic results for our patients.

If a lesion is complex due to its size or location, referral to a Plastic Surgeon may be required. Dr. Kynan collaborates closely with a highly skilled Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon on the Gold Coast and will facilitate a referral if deemed necessary.

All excisions are conducted in rooms.
